A Lifetime in Light

Luxray was founded by Mr. Zhang Hengqin, an engineer whose career spans nearly four decades of the lighting industry.

Born in a small fishing village in Fujian, he went on to study light-source engineering at Fudan University — one of China's leading centres for the field. He began his career at a Xiamen incandescent-lamp factory (a predecessor of today's Topstar Lighting), before joining Megaman, the international lighting brand, where he served as Chief Engineer and Deputy General Manager for over two decades.

Through those years he witnessed — and helped shape — the generational shift from incandescent and halogen to energy-saving and LED lighting, working alongside countless global lighting brands along the way.

In 2014, he brought that depth of experience to Luxray, with a single focus: to do one thing exceptionally well — the craft of the LED filament, and the custom light sources that decorative, hospitality and OEM projects demand.

Today, that same philosophy guides everything we make. From vintage Edison filament bulbs to G4, G9 and GU10 lamps, every product is built to specification — tuned in colour, quality and consistency, and tailored to each client's requirement. We work as a long-term partner, not just a supplier, to lighting brands, designers and premium projects worldwide.
